Payson was S0 pretty, relaxing and the weather was just amazeys. Our friend Forest & his lovely lady Val had us at their families beautiful cabin. It is so hard to believe that this little spot is only about an hour and a half away from our hometown. The drive was just as pretty with all of the cactus. It's a great feeling when you find a new appreciation for the place you live.

Anyways, the first day we arrived the sky was meant for me to take pictures, pink streaks & tree silhouettes! BREATHTAKING. We spent the day exploring the forest, just soaking in the fresh air, & swinging on the front porch. The second day we went to a small park within the cabin neighborhood & played like kids on the equipment including a zip-line! Too Fun!!

Afterwards, we headed to a small little pizza spot & filled our tummies. Next stop was Granny's Antique Attic. OMG ::heartstops:: This place was heaven. Rooms upon rooms filled with tea cups, jewelry, knick knacks, old cameras = everything I dream of. Needless to say I was spoiled. Pictures of my souvenirs to come!

We did some more hiking, collected some branches and rocks, and ended the last night with good talks & good ole Pictionary. GIRLS WON!

I have found myself immersed in so many different photography websites/ iphone apps these days it's easy to lose hours on end...ultimately being inspired. This should be considered some sort of hobby rather than just mindless photo sifting. Ode to filling my mind with images that make me smile.

The difference between then & now is that NOW when I feel inspired I do something about it. Here are some photos from the last few weeks that I have taken of myself etc.

Roller Skate Date

I started painting a little ceramic rollerskate today that I am currently in the process of upcycling (pictures soon) & thought to myself how much I LOVE rollerskates. It's not even the actual action of rollerskating that i'm infatuated with, I guess to me the image of rollerskates are just so nostalgic & scream "CUTE." Every now and then I skate around the house like a little kid! Love them love them love them. I am lucky enough to own 2 pairs! In conclusion, I got giddy, put on some cute Betsey Johnson knee highs, laced up my skates, and busted out the camera of course!!!

Starcrossed Vintage

So ecstatic to finally bust my butt and design some cutesy business cards for my online vintage shop on Etsy. I printed these through Zazzle.com as recommended by my sister Holly over at Chez Jolly. With all of the promo codes and emails I received from the internet I got 100 business cards for $4.00! I still can't believe it. Well worth it.

My business cards sitting looking pretty on my new chair! I scored this wonderfully whimsical chair last saturday at Goodwill for 5$! You better believe I will be using it over and over for photo-shoots and whatever else comes to mind.

I think my heart stopped when I spotted this chair in the second-hand store. People watched in envy as I situated my shopping cart to nab this 4ft lovely chair.

My typical packaging job! Incorporating my sea foam greenish color in my ribbon with a Starcrossed Vtg card along with it. Hopefully my customers will enjoy my pieces so much as they will pass on the business card to friends.

So some of you might be wondering what my inspiration was for my initial design for my business cards/ little vintage business. Well it all kinda came about with my obsession for a wig I purchased a year ago for Halloween in which I was a mermaid! Ever since, I have been smitten with this light green color and kind of branded myself as my alter ego.

As for me I plan on opening one more shop on Etsy in the very near future with some handmade,paintings & up-cycled goodies!

Everyday Is a Winding Road

I guess it might seem a tad counterproductive to talk about where I was last year instead of "What am I doing Right Now" but shoot my life has had its exciting moments and why not relive those and share those with others in one way or another. & let's face it sometimes Facebook "friends" just don't appreciate what you have to put out there.

Around this same time last year I was on the road with Chad ( my charming boyfriend) and the music group he was on the road with at the time, Modsun. Chad was playing bass and Pouyan was on the keyboards. Both in which were from the Arizona band Scary Kids Scaring Kids which were on RCA records. Modsun played drums for Scary Kids for their Farewell Tour and was a good friend from tour previously. Modsun has made a pretty big name for himself these days as he is a talented music artist, and was a blast to be out on the road with.

Looking at pics from even just a yr ago I got to visit many places I probably never would have.

Walking around shops in San Fran I HAD to stop in front of this mural.! (My hair was SO dark!)

Utah was beautiful! The architecture was "epic" for lack of better words and the
mountain tops were capped with snow.

20 Days...

This is the first year in about two yrs we have had a Christmas tree I sadly admit. I Always got stuck with the roommate who never wanted to chip in for some holiday cheer. So needless to say a strand of lights had to make due for those times.

It is 56 degrees in Phoenix Arizona right now. I know that's nothing compared to many other places this time of year. This weather is just so refreshing for a desert dweller, & I can't help but zip-up, sip up, & think happy thoughts!

DIY Birdie Cabinet

I was so excited to find this little curio cabinet for just a few bucks at a secondhand store a few weeks ago. I picked up a can of "Vintage Scotch Yellow" from Walmart and saw a lot of potential from there. Unfortunately, I searched through my photos only to find I did not snap any before shots, lesson learned and adding that to my check-list before I start any other DIY up-cycling projects.

What I Did:

Took the door and glass off
Sanded this baby down
Taped off the areas that didn't need painted
Slopped some paint on it / multiple applications
Acyrlic paint for the birdie silhouette
Had a pretty bead in my jewelry box & hot glued that.

PRETTY SIMPLE!!!

As far as what I can put in this now pretty little piece, the possibilities are endless. As two pinecones puts me in a little holiday spirit as we prepare for Christmas!

Ello I'm a Newb

Good afternoon to all who will probably not stumble across this little blog for at least a little stint of time. I have spent a few hours overnight designing my page before diving right in and making a post. Maybe I have backwards thinking, but this is coming from a lil lady with a sparkle for design in her eye.

I even found myself laying in bed tossing and turning about "What should my first post be about." ::Felt like a total dork confessing that to my boyfiend:: Now I am not exactly a writer or feel like I have a total knack/talent for forming nice sentences together, but I pinky promised myself to just try and get over my fear of knowing people are going to be potentially reading my posts and forming opinions intentionally or unintentionally. Writing is such a daunting task for me and I can't figure out why.

Anyways, here you will see a wide mix of my daily happenings/outfits/rants as I "run with it" and hopefully some perdy pics along the way as well. I am currently unemployed for the first time in 8 yrs consequently I have PLENTY of free time and have really always wanted a blog, just never had the time or made the time to put myself out there.

Pardon in advance for any incorrect use of grammar & any bad use of punctuation, or even my heavy addiction use of emoticons. hah!
